The Taiwanese tech giant unveiled revealed three electric prototypes during an event on Monday: an SUV, a sedan, and a bus.

With a plan to build electric vehicle manufacturing facilities in the US and Thailand next year, the Taiwanese tech giant may be a step closer to accomplishing its goals of building semi-autonomous Ev’s.

Today marked a surprising shift for the company known as apple’s supplier in the manufacturing of iPhones. As the largest electronics contract manufacturer in the world, the unveiling puts the Taiwanese company puts its footprint into the same electric vechicles market as heavyweight hitters, Tesla and Mercedes Benz.

The debuts took place during the company’s Hon Hai Tech Day 2021, which adopted an overarching tone of becoming a “global next-generation automotive manufacturer.” The front view of the new car has the name “FOXTROT” inscribed, suggesting that will be the name of the car brand.

Starting with Model C SUV, the company’s new open platform as a starting point to build electric vehicles. With a wheelbase just shy of 10 feet long and an overall length of 15 feet, the vehicle seats seven and boasts a drag.

Foxconn said the SUV is meant to provide the space of a large luxury car, but keep a smaller footprint for city living.
