Infinix Note 12 VIP

Infinix is breaking the 100W charging barrier with a new member of the Note 12 series. The phone also boasts a 120Hz display and a 108MP camera.

The Infinix Note 12 VIP comes with features like support for 120W fast charging, 108MP rear cameras, and a 120Hz display.

The 120W HyperCharge capability, allows this Infinix to charge 0-100 percent in just 17 minutes
Infinix shows a chart showing an increasingly impressive charging curve using the HyperCharge system with a ratio of 33, 67, and 120 W. Some phones that have offered 120 W charging capabilities are the Xiaomi 12 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+.

The Note 12 VIP showcases Infinix’s best-in-class features. The company has steadily been stepping up its game in the midrange segment with the Infinix Note 10 series and Infinix Note 11 series from last year and finally delivered a genuinely excellent midrange experience.

There’s certainly something to be said for a comparatively affordable Ultra smartphone with these kinds of features.

VIP: Specs and Features

Infinix Note 12 VIP comes with an ultra-sleek aesthetic and opts for the flat-edge design that is becoming common these days. It also features a rectangular rear camera hump with one huge camera housing and two small ones. It is painted in Cayenne Grey and Force Black colors. The glass back feels a lot like Samsung’s phones. It’s durable, picking up no scratches after a jostle in my pocket with some keys.

Infinix Note 12 VIP Display

6.7-inch Full HD+ Super Light AMOLED display with a center-placed punch-hole. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, Low Blue Light tech, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 93.1% screen-to-body ratio. The tiny bezels at the top and bottom of the device are barely perceptible, giving the Note 12 Vip an impressive 93% screen-to-body ratio.

This mobile phone also boasts an impressive brightness range, which improves the overall experience in bright spots and dark ones. Especially, with a peak brightness of 1200 nits, the device was easily viewable in bright sunlight, even when watching dark videos.

The cool factor of the waterfall display cannot be overstated either. Sure, once you throw a case on it you won’t be able to enjoy it nearly as much, but without a case, this screen looks amazing and doesn’t feel too big.

Infinix Note 12 VIP Camera

Note 12 VIP features a Cinemagic main camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.

There’s a 16MP front camera on board too.

Another upgrade exclusive to the VIP is that the main camera on the back has a 108 MP sensor. Also new is a 13 MP ultrawide camera and a front camera, plus a laser AF system.
It supports Laser detection auto-focus, Night mode, Portrait mode, and more.

The detail in the primary 108 MP sensor pictures was discernible after the first snap, and became more and more obvious the more I used it. This is also a great focal length to use while out and about. Without any editing, the colors were bright, the image was crisp, and they just looked good without a filter in sight. The cameras impressed more than expected, which you wouldn’t expect without the AI power behind it.

Since it is a budget phone. the telephoto lens makes for great shots if there’s good light. I was largely unimpressed with the watercolor nature of anything beyond the optical zoom (91mm, 3.5x). Even at 10x, the picture begins to get pretty blurry, and each increment up to the max of 40x gets worse and can’t compete with Google’s or Samsung’s digital zoom.

Gaming

Note 12 VIP comes with a 7.89 better gaming optimization, dual speaker with DTS, dual x-axis linear meter, and a 9-layer cooling system. The sound quality is a bit uneven, particularly when watching in landscape view, which is likely due to the asymmetrical placement on the top and bottom of the device.

Price
It is worth noting that the Note 12 VIP is priced at $300, While the Infinix Note 12 (G96) will retail for $200.
